Right now we’re looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer Supporting the Analytics and Business Insight division of the hospital, this position is responsible for providing technical support for the Business Intelligence (BI) data models, access control, and products that help the hospital democratize the data. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will design BI data models and products to support hospital strategy and operations including automated dashboards, scorecards, reports, and data analysis in support of strategic and operational objectives, adding visibility to key organization metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:
Activities
- Develop and maintain logical BI data models that support needs that are currently defined while being adaptable to future needs
- Develop and maintain naming and object organization standards in collaboration with the BI team
- Develop Extract, Translate, and Load (ETL) processes to populate the data warehouse from various data sources and SQL
- Partner with clients and their business teams to understand their business problems and challenges and create meaningful and creative solutions that address these problems and challenges
- Design, develop, deliver and maintain clean, secure and efficient reports, visualizations, dashboard solutions using BI and Reporting Tools
- Specify and build dashboards, scorecards, tools, and reports that support strategic and operational goals
- Analyzing, developing and troubleshooting complex data systems and identifying patterns.
- Participate in designing and building tools for online analytical processing (OLAP cubes) to advance multidimensional analysis that utilizes non-relational databases.
- Testing, fixing, improving and deploying software and solutions
- Meeting project milestones and delivering working solutions
- Communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Apply data quality principles in BI development
- Participate in the development and maintenance of meta-data
- Prepare the deliverables for the different production environments and participate in the functional validation by providing technical assistance to users
- Develop and update technical documentation for BI tools and dashboards to improve the monitoring of content and the evolution of the system.
- Document contents in a data warehouse and metadata storage.
- Support other team members in the construction of database objects and SQL queries.
- Collaborate within the team and act as a technical advisor to the members.
- Assist team with debugging issues with data, products, reports, etc.
- Be active in the developer community by ensuring technology watch.
Requirements:
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent amount of education and work experience
- BI certification preferred (e.g. MCSE BI or MCSE Data Management and Analytics) is an asset
- Project management an asset
- 5+ years of experience as a BI Developer
- 5+ years of batch or streaming data pipelines, data warehouse / data lake design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
- 7+ years Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL or SQL Server databases
- Hospital experience is preferred
- Applying Business Intelligence data modelling and design to support health care operations, hospital data sets, such as DAD, NACRS, NRS, patient information systems, operations, decision support, and metrics
- Experience with MicroStrategy
- Experience with Meditech Data Repository
