We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Clinician to join our Vascular Access team

 

Reporting Relationship: Manager of Fracture, Plastics & Surgical Clinics, Vascular Access Team

Location: Humber River Health – Wilson Site
Hours of work: 12 hour shifts, days/evenings/weekends/ (07:30 - 19:30/11:30- 23:30) - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights. 

Hiring Salary Range: $42.81-$58.11

Union:  ONA

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

• Utilizes and demonstrates a comprehensive theoretical knowledge base and developed skill and competence in infusion care
• Advances the practice of Infusion therapy and Vascular Access Device (VAD) management at HRH.
• Provides leadership to the multi-disciplinary teams of all clinical areas of all programs by providing expert advice and resources.
• Coaches and provides consultation and education for staff and patients in infusion therapy and VAD management.
• Provides evidence-based practice to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and monitoring of patient outcomes related to IV therapy in all clinical areas.
• Assesses learning needs of staff and provides individual coaching and mentoring to ensure staff competence
• Developing and providing educational in-services, as needed.
• Adherence to CVAA standards of Infusion therapy and VAD management and related HRH policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse in good standing with CNO
• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required
• CVAA(c), required or eligible to write
• Current membership with CVAA, required
• Two years current clinical experience with infusion therapy and VAD management

• Current BCLS
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality monitoring of patient outcomes related to infusion therapy
• Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal communication skills with all members of the health team and patients/families
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with changing priorities, using excellent time management, and independent problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a highly diverse patient and staff population.
• Demonstrated positive attendance record and commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards.
