Humber River Health (HRH) is a prominent 1.8 million square foot, fully-digital acute care facility in Canada, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and catering to a wide range of medical needs. It serves a population of over 850,000 individuals residing in the northwest Greater Toronto Area. HRH operates 656 acute inpatient beds at the Wilson site, 34 beds at Church Campus and 32 beds at Finch Campus, with over 4000 staff, approximately 800 physicians and over 1,000 volunteers. HRH also includes the Reactivation Care Centres (RCCs) at the Finch and Church Campuses which represent a unique partnership among multiple hospitals in the GTA with a focus on delivery of specialised care with the focus on reactivation to patients who have been designated as Alternative Level of Care.

We have developed advanced patient flow and care monitoring tools supported by the Command Centre, enabling us to use real-time data feeds from across the Hospital to improve patient flow, patient safety and outcomes.

Position Summary
The Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Humber River Health is seeking a full-time orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty focus in lower extremity sports medicine and arthroscopy to join our team. Fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopy is required. Candidates with a specific interest in the comprehensive treatment of knee injuries (including primary and revision ACL reconstruction), cartilage injuries, patellofemoral instability, knee preservation (including osteotomy), and hip arthroscopy will be preferred. Additional fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma is not mandatory but will be considered an asset. Candidates with an interest in clinical program development, innovation, teaching, and research are desired.
The successful candidate will join a supportive team of 14 orthopaedic surgeons. Resources include trauma and elective OR time, fracture clinic, elective clinic, and on call responsibilities. The candidate will be expected to assist the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery with teaching commitment and apply for academic appointment in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
In addition to demonstrated clinical excellence and outstanding interpersonal skills, candidates must have an MD or equivalent, have completed an accredited orthopaedic surgery training program, and additional fellowship training concentrated in the field of sports medicine. The successful candidate must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario
