The Clinical Practice Leader - Violence Prevention is accountable for the development, execution and monitoring of the HRH Violence Prevention Strategy. This role facilitates and supports continuous learning, professional development, and service excellence through education, coaching and mentoring of Staff, Physicians and Volunteers. Reporting to the Program Director, Mental Health & Addictions,  the Clinical Practice Leader - Violence Prevention provides leadership and expertise to support quality excellence in by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs related to Violence Prevention.

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Program Directors, develop, execute and monitor the HRH Violence Prevention Strategy
  • Model excellence in clinical practice and professional development  
  • Promote the development of interdisciplinary teams related to the management of workplace violence
  • Provide at the shoulder support to teams regarding the management of aggressive behaviours.
  • In partnership with Occupational Health & Safety, review data, determine trends and develop strategies for violence reduction
  • Design learning needs assessments and develop educational programs to support these needs
  • Develop continuous educations programs to keep staff updated with new practices, skills and certifications

 

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Respiratory Therapy
  • Masters of Business Administration, Health Administration or equivalent. Candidates who are actively pursuing their Master's will be considered.
  • Review data, determine trends and develop strategies for violence reduction
  • Current BCLS and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification required, or willingness to obtain in 3 months
  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience in healthcare
  • Previous experience in an adult educator/Clinical Practice Leader role
  • Experience in adult education principles that address facets of learning needs assessment
  • Experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programs
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer skills
  • Highly developed knowledge of team facilitation skills, change management and continuous quality improvements.
  • Ability to be self-directed in fast paced environment
  • Highly developed customer service approach
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent organizational skills
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Instructor certification an asset
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required
