As a member of the team you will bring the specific expertise to coordinate the paediatric clinic and work collaborativelywith the clinic team to provide patient and family centred care.

Right now we are looking for a Registered Nurse to work with our Paediatric Outpatient Clinic.

Reporting Relationship:
Manager, Paediatrics & NICU
Hiring Salary Range: $39.07 - $56.00
Location: Humber River Health – Wilson Site
Hours of work: Days/Evenings, Monday - Sunday

Position Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of infant’s developmental status in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work collaboratively with the medical team to provide general care for Paediatric patients.
  • General paediatric nursing care and duties
  • Promotion of and commitment to patient and family centered care philosophy.
  • Health teaching to parents/families on a multiple topics.
  • Accept consults/referrals from NICU/ED/Paediatric Unit/Mother Baby Unit and other external institutions.
  • Co-ordinates referrals and appointments for patients
  • Selects appropriate literature for parents/families related to health issue.
  • Collect and provide clinic statistics.
  • Implement best practice guidelines for care in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Specimen and phlebotomy collection.

 

Qualifications:

  • Registered member of the College of Nursing, in good standing.
  • Recent clinical experience in an inpatient/ambulatory setting.
  • Current NICU/Paediatric experience required.
  • Excellent newborn and child assessment skills required, paediatric assessment course an asset
  • A highly developed customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted).
  • NRP Certification required.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement evidence/research findings in practice.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in adult education an asset.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained to one other area within the Women’s & Children’s Health Program.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
