Right now we’re looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to work in our Plastics Clinic.

 

Employment Status: Temporary Part Time
Duration:
January 2027 - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.
Hours of Work: 
Must be available for rotating day shifts from Monday to Friday (e.g. 7:00-15:00, 7:30-15:30 and/or 8:00-16:00) - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights

Hourly Rate:
$36.929 - $37.466 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Scrubbing and circulating duties in minor plastics clinics.
  • Care of patients post minor – procedures and postoperative patients.
  • Assisting physician with procedures in the plastics clinic.
  • Participation in departmental teams/committees as required.
  • Participatation in quality improvement activities
  • Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
  • Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patients as required.
  • Providing education and follow-up to all plastics clinic patients
  • All other RPN responsibilities set out by the department

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program
  • Current Registered Practical Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Minimum three (3) years acute surgical experience, required.
  • Minimum two (2) years ambulatory clinic experience is required.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, blood transfusion, wound care dressing, medication administration, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
  • Demonstrated strong patient/family health teaching skills
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Knowledge of a second language as asset
  • Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
