We have an exciting oppotunity for a Social Worker, Professional Practice Leader for up to 3 years to work with our Allied Health Services and Professional Practice department. The Professional Practice Leader (PPL) for Social Work provides leadership to support and enable Social Workers across the organization to embrace the patient-centered care philosophy into practice and meet the mission, vision and values of Humber River Health. This position has a dual reporting accountability to the Director of Professional Practice for their role as Professional Practice Leader and to the Manager of Allied Health Services for the clinical care role.

Duration (if contract): January 30, 2028
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, occasional weekends.
Location: Primary Wilson Site, trav to RCCs (Finch and Church) may be required.

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Social Work
Hourly Rate: $46.90 - $60.80
Responsibilities:
Resource to clinical programs for matters involving discipline specific professional practice.
Works collaboratively with clinical programs and other discipline leaders to facilitate the integration of professional standards and promote professional practice.
Functions as a mentor and support for new and current staff to ensure that specialized and high quality clinical expertise is available for patient care.
Provide a leadership role both within the Allied Health Services department and as an advocate for the Allied Health department goals and objectives.
Coaching in Clinical Social Work related matters, monitoring and making recommendations regarding clinical practice and supporting the profession’s growth and development.
Clinical caseload assignment of fifty percent (50%) of the work schedule.
Qualifications:
MSW obtained from an accredited School of Social Work required.
Current registration in good standing with the College of Social Workers of Ontario.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting (full time equivalent).
Demonstrated critical thinking skills and effective problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload to meet varied assignments from both Professional Practice and Allied Health.
Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement processes adult learning principles and change management
Recent experience utilizing leadership skills such acting as a mentor /preceptors others, teaching at the University level leading project.
Experience with Interprofessional Collaborative Practice initiatives, projects or committees
Computer skills and knowledge of MT 6, M.S. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to travel from site to site.
