Position Summary

  • Employment Status: Full Time
  • Hours of Work: Normal hours of work will be Monday - Friday. Evenings and work on weekends may be required based upon operational needs.
  • Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site with occasional travel to Finch and Church sites (as required).
  • Labour Group: Non-Union
  • Salary Range: $87,299.55 - $109,196.10

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist, Volunteer Services to join our Volunteer Services Team.  Reporting into the Manager, Volunteer Services, you will lead and coordinate the Lobby Services team. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining all Volunteer Services resources, including our SharePoint site. The Senior Specialist, Volunteer Services will lead the recruitment, orientation and onboarding activities for new volunteers.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment, orientation and ongoing training activities for all volunteers.
  • Plan and coordinate a master schedule to maintain appropriate staffing levels and continuous coverage for patient inquiry and information stations, including managing unexpected and planned coverage needs
  • Design, develop, update and maintain the content and resources within the Volunteer section of the hospital’s internal and external website
  • Develop weekly communication bulletin to provide updates on organizational changes and information required to respond to inquiries from the public
  • Advise and assist team members in problem solving with the goal of volunteer satisfaction, engagement and continuous improvement
  • Design and develop role specific training sessions and annual retraining sessions for all volunteer program areas

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • College Diploma in Volunteer Management/ Psychology/Social Work or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ Volunteer Specialist experience, preferably in a Health Care setting
  • Certificate in Volunteer Management required, with a preference for those registered with the Professional Association of Volunteer Leaders - Ontario (PAVRO) or Canadian Volunteer Association (CVA)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
