Reporting Relationship: Manager, Birthing Unit and Prenatal Clinic
Hiring Salary Range: $37.93 - 54.37
Position Responsibilities:
- RN responsibilities with a focus on assessment and total patient care to women in the antepartum, intrapartum and the immediate postpartum period as well as stabilization and transitional care of the newborn.
- Scrubbing and circulating for cesarean births.
- Patient and family education and support.
- Expectation to work on the Mother Baby Unit when the need arises.
Qualifications:
- Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
- BCLS/CPR certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted).
- Current NRP certificate required or agreement to obtain within 3 months of commencement into position.
- Fetal Monitoring Course required or agreement to obtain within 3 months of commencement into position.
- Recent Birthing Unit experience required.
- Scrubbing and circulating for cesarean births an asset.
- Proficiency in initiating IV therapy and venipuncture skills preferred.
- Obstetrical Nursing Certificate an asset. Breastfeeding Certificate an asset.
- Bereavement/palliative nursing care skills an asset. Good patient/family teaching skills required.
- Ability to facilitate family centered care.
- Willingness to be cross-trained to one other area within the Women’s & Children’s Health Program.

Position Responsibilities:
- Ensures a high standard of patient care in accordance with Speech Language Pathology policies and procedures.
- The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for the assessment and management of adults with dysphagia and communication disorders in an acute care setting.
- Collaboration and communication with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide appropriate assessment and treatment for referred patients with acute medical needs within the Medicine program including the ICU and ED, with some coverage in the Surgery program as needed.
- Recording patient assessment, progress and discharge status.
- Providing discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team members, including applications to other resources.
- Recording workload measurement data.
- Provide consultation to other disciplines in the area of physical medicine.

Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the filling and delivery of all requisitions for stock items from Stores.
- Monitoring expiry dates of inventory supplies in storeroom and on supply carts.

- Scanning, counting, picking and replenishing all Supply Carts.
- Processing incoming inventory shipments and accurately entering into Meditech.

The Humber River Health Oncology program provides comprehensive cancer care services in our outpatient clinic made of 28 treatment spaces and care for over 15,500 patients annually, including lab, systemic therapy, medical oncology, and supportive care visits. Our treatment and services include:

- Symptom management related to systemic treatments

We are currently seeking an Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to partner with another Oncology NP and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, oncologists, palliative/supportive care physician and program leaders to provide direct and comprehensive care and services to our patients.
You will use advanced practice skills to provide assessment, coordination and provision of services to patients and families including crises intervention and short-term management while integrating best practice guidelines and current evidence-based research into clinical practice for in-patient and ambulatory clinic for oncology and oncology palliative population.
You will have the opportunity to participate and lead quality improvement initiatives and make recommendations for change in consultation with the Program Director, Manager and Physician Leader.
Your leadership skills will be utilized to provide training, coaching and education related to evidence-based Oncology practice and knowledge among team members.
Qualifications:
- NP - Primary Health Care.
- NP– Adult, RN(EC) preferred, Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum 3 years experience in acute oncology and systemic therapy experience

Dialysis Liaison
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dialysis Liaison is an integral member of the Nephrology Program, who applies knowledge, skill and judgment to organize, and provide home haemodialysis treatment in the community within Humber River Health's (HRH) catchment area. The Dialysis Liaison considers individual patient needs, time, supplies, and equipment requirements in consultation with the registered nurse.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist home hemodialysis patients with treatments within the home setting according to treatment plan while promoting quality of life for patients as directed by the nurse;
- Must complete and maintain related records and documentation;
- Must continuously observe patient and assist with necessary machine alarms; and must report to the primary registered nurse status changes and document;
- Assists team with necessary supplies to provide haemodialysis treatments;
- Responsible for correct use of equipment according to guidelines and protocols; and reports any piece of equipment that is out of order and remove it from use;
- Follows all infection control precautions and protocols under the direction of the Registered Nurse;
- Reports any requests or complaints made by the patient, and families to the Registered Nurse;
- Reports any other concerns or issues to the Registered Nurse as required;
- Works safely and ensure the safety of others by following established safe operating procedures, practices and policies and by reporting hazards and participating in Health & Safety training;
- Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of work;
- Attends and completes all required training, education and in-services as required;
- Participates in Quality Assurance Program, and related quality improvement activities;
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent;
- Shifts are rotating 10hr and 12hrs, Days, Evenings and Weekends
- Minimum 1 year experience in related field;
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of health care practices and techniques;
- Valid driver license in good standing with reliable vehicle to travel within HRH’s community;

Responsibilities:
- Advocate for use of best practices for clinical staff.
- Guide clinical staff in the interpretation and implementation of professional and practice standards.
- Monitor and evaluate staff and program compliance with professional best practices and standards to identify and resolve issues with the delivery of quality, safe patient care and compliance with professional standards; refer complex issues to Director for resolution; adjust practice changes as they occur to bring staff to new standard.
- Develop reports of staff disciplinary actions for submission to regulatory health professional colleges and professional associations in collaboration with Manager and Director.
- Develop project plans, requirements, testing and implementation plans, resources and interdependencies, monitor implementation.

- Performing interventions focused on the following areas: splint/cast and dressings/bandages application; windowing/wedging casts; trimming, bi-valving casts, bandages and splints; removal/repair/re-enforce casts; removal of sutures/wires/pins/external fixators; application of principles of surgical asepsis; preparing for minor surgical procedures application; setting up surgical field for injections and minor procedures; and adjusting and removing orthopaedic devices.
- Assisting physicians on inpatient units and the plastics clinic with orthopedic procedures, including wound care, aspirations, minor surgical procedures and fracture reductions.
Performing/Participating in a comprehensive assessment of patients’ conditions, and develop an orthopedic care plan in collaboration with the family and the interdisciplinary health care team.

Position Responsibilities:
- Process all non-inventory purchase orders, based on purchase requisitions received from all departments (on requisition forms and via Meditech on-line requisitions) on a daily basis while abiding by all Hospital’s contractual obligations, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile monthly statement with supporting documentation for all credit card purchases.
- Process select Capital purchase orders and special project purchase orders, as assigned by Director of Procurement, Logistics and Mail Room, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Expedite all outstanding purchase orders, selected Capital purchase orders and special project non-inventory purchase orders to ensure timely arrival of goods
- Obtain quotations for required supplies, services and equipment and negotiate prices in the best interest of the hospital. Has autonomy to order and shop for best price for items not on contract.
- Process service repairs and obtain repair quotes, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Resolve non-inventory back-order issues
- Assign asset tag and process required forms for minor equipment and select Capital purchase orders, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Update /maintain various spreadsheets for tracking information of processed purchase orders, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Create and update item and vendor dictionaries with new information as received i.e. set up new Meditech Item numbers with product and vendor information, pricing updates, contract dates, packaging changes, vendor contact information’s, etc
- Maintain and update approved delegation of signing authority for departments in Meditech
- Perform special projects, provide support to the Procurement team (i.e. answering phone calls, emails, filing, provide coverage for absences) or other duties as assigned.
- Process invoices for non-inventory purchase orders /service contracts, special projects (i.e. Reactivation Care Centre project) and services, which are not received by Stores, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Resolve non-inventory back-order issues, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile invoices and exception report referred from Accounting for approval where price, quantity or product discrepancies exist, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Process other invoices as assigned, ensuring compliance, accuracy and timeliness.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to: obtain and provide product information, on request to coordinate loaners for scheduled and elective emergency surgeries, on request; to standardize goods and services to establish contracts; to review products, services and/or equipment relevant to those purchase
- Train department users on the use of purchase requisitions and Meditech on-line requisitions
- Participate or assist on the Product Review Standardization Committee Meetings on an ad-hoc basis or as required by the Director, Procurement, Logistics and Mail Room
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) or (Formerly) Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) Level 2 required
- 2 years of recent purchasing experience required
- Purchasing experience in computerized healthcare environment preffered
- Knowledge & applied experience of purchasing resources, terminology and methodology required
- Proficient in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Able to communicate effectively, meeting required timelines in a fast paced environment

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Service Desk Support person to join our Information Systems & Telecommunications team.
Working collaboratively with staff, the successful incumbent will deliver first level support, innovative customer focused service by analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving Computer hardware/software and application related issues to hospital Staff, Physician and Volunteers in an efficient and courteous manner.

Responsibilities:
- Acting as the first point of contact for all computer and related hardware, application and telecom related requests for IT service and support.
- Resolve technical issues related to servers, computers, printers, computer peripheral devices and telecommunication devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Microsoft Windows operating system, Microsoft Office and health information applications.
- Recording, categorizing and logging requests for service using a central ticket management solution;
- Leveraging available tools (SMS, remote support utilities, knowledge base and other sources of documentation) to resolve incidents in an efficient and effective manner
- Transferring and escalating incidents and problems to 2nd/3rd level support resources and following up with ticket owners to ensure resolution in a timely manner;
- Provisioning, changing and de-provisioning user accounts in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
- Ability to provide training to staff and users.
- Develops procedures and provides documentation for staff and users manuals.
- Upgrading existing PC Hardware and software.
- Provide technical support to hospital staff during business and after hours by participating in on-call rotation
- Provides end-user support for the installation and support of applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of University and/or Community College diploma in a health-related or computer technology program.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Technical Service Desk role is required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with expert level proficiency in Microsoft, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Microsoft Office 2013, MS Server 2008/12, MS SQL 2008/12, and Citrix Desktop is required.
- Experience with Meditech and other healthcare information applications is an asset.
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving computer hardware, printer hardware, peripherals, and E-Mail Systems issues is required.
- Experience in troubleshooting Local and Wide area networks and is an asset.
- ITIL Foundation experiences and/or certification is an asset.
- A highly developed customer-service orientation.
