Reporting Relationship: Manager, Paediatrics & NICU Hiring Salary Range:$37.93 - 54.37   Position Responsibilities: - RN responsibilities, with a focus on assessment and total care of the patient (0-18 years). - Parent and family education and support. - Facilitate discharge planning. - Rotating on a regular basis to the Surgical Day Care - Specimen and phlebotomy collection.  Qualifications: - Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required. - BCLS/CPR certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (Registered Nurses currently employed by HRH are exempted). - Current NRP certificate required or agreement to obtain within 3 months of commencement into position - PALS certification required or agreement to obtain within 6 months of commencement into position. - Current Paediatric experience required. - S.T.A.B.L.E.  certification an asset. - Experience in Phase 2 Paediatric recovery an asset. - Completion of course in pediatric assessment required or must obtain within 6 months of commencement into position.  - Breastfeeding support skills an asset. - Proficiency in initiating IV therapy and venipuncture in infants and children - Good patient and family teaching skills required.  - Bereavement/palliative nursing care skills an asset. - Ability to facilitate family centered care. - Willingness to be cross-trained to one other area within the Maternal and Child program. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required with an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team as well as with parents and families from a diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.  - Good organizational skills, with an ability to be flexible and adapt to effectively meet the changing needs and priorities of the unit. - Willingness to rotate to other departments as required. - Second language an asset. - Excellent attendance and discipline free record required. Humber River Health was the first community hospital in Ontario to participate in these clinical trials   Right now we are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Cancer Clinic.    Our Oncology nurses specialize in treating people with cancer serving as their first line of communication as they help to coordinate and deliver many aspects of a patient’s treatment, including administering medications, fluids and cancer treatments such as chemotherapy.  They are caring individuals who are dedicated to assisting patients as they undergo treatment. Are you an experienced Oncology Nurse who is compassionate and has completed DeSouza Oncology courses?   If you answered yes to question above, we invite you to read the details below and apply to this exciting career opportunity at Humber River Health.     Reporting Relationship:  Clinical Manager, Oncology Hourly Rate:  $37.93 – $54.37 Hours:  Monday to Friday  8 hour day shift Union:  ONA   Position Responsibilities: - Safe Administration of Chemotherapy and Biotherapy. - Excellent Patient/Family teaching skills with an ability to promote patient centered care - Care planning and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary team - Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care. - Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required. - Resource/team leader responsibilities. - Preceptorship of nursing students and Mentorship of new nursing staff. Qualifications:  - Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario - Current BCLS certification - Current de Souza Institute Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Certification is required - Excellent knowledge and skills in CVAD management and IV starts and infusion therapy - DeSouza Institute course Foundations in Oncology Nursing, preferred. - 2 years current experience in oncology required. - Current CNA, Oncology Specialty designation or eligible to write - Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors. - Demonstrated excellent patient assessment skills.. - Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines - An ability to work well independently with minimal supervision - Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.    Why Humber?
