  Join our financial reporting team as we work together to achieve sustainable, responsive and efficient growth and asset utilization.   At Humber River Hospital, or Finance department plays a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and managing financial, accounting, and reporting policies, processes, and operational activities that meet all Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) legal, regulatory, requirements. We are currently seeking a Temporary Full Time Finance Clerk - Accounts Payable to join our Finance team. Position Responsibilities: - Perform all accounting functions related to Accounts payable on a timely basis. - Opens, sorts and distributes Accounts Payable mail to the appropriate staff member - Enters all invoices with a purchase order into the system on a timely basis and matches to appropriate purchase order and purchase order line.  - Checks the accuracy of invoices including extensions and taxes. - Ensures timely resolution of any discrepancies encountered in processing and matching purchase orders, receiving documents and invoices through the Meditech integrated MM/AP system.  Liaise with buyers and receiving staff to clear discrepancies and resolve problems when processing invoices. - Ensure that invoices are processed within payment terms established, particularly if discounts are available.  - Follow hospital policy for requisitions and invoices without a purchase order. - Process EFT/Cheque payment run for mid month and month end as assigned following hospital policy and procedures including filing backup for each payment. - Maintain cheque security at all times. - Manage invoices and payments for assigned vendors.  - Participates in month and year end including preparing journal entries according to schedule  - Maintain an effective and professional working relationship with peers  and other hospital staff.  Respond to queries in a timely manner.  - Cover other Finance clerk tasks as per operational requirements. - Work with other team members to coordinate responsibilities, and prioritize tasks, ensuring all-important deadlines are met. - Provides excellent customer, internal and external stakeholders, using appropriate communication methods to respond in a timely, helpful, and courteous manner. - Other duties as assigned.   Requirements:   - College Diploma or degree in a recognized Accounting program. - Working knowledge of accounting – including principles and best practice, bookkeeping - Good knowledge of Meditech with focus on AP system preferred - At least 2 years of recent work experience in : - accounts payable - dealing with vendors - bookkeeping - data entry, management and generating reports using MS Excel - generating accounting reports - Mathematical aptitude - Proficiency in MS Outlook and Word preferred - Excellent communications skills both oral and written - Detail oriented - Ability to interact successfully with other staff; work independently; prioritize workload to meet deadlines - Excellent attendance and discipline free record required    Hours of work: Must be available to work afternoons, days, weekends and evenings. There will be a primary focus on an ALC Seniors patient population. - Occasional cross coverage within the Church RCC site or at the Wilson site (both within the Medicine and Surgery program) may be required as needed. - Assisting with patient lifting, transferring and transporting as required. - Providing assigned, delegated treatment regimes. - Adherence to all delegated responsibilities. - Preparing patients for treatment. - Assisting the therapist in related duties. - Maintaining timely charting and workload measurement. - Monitoring and maintenance of equipment - Other duties as assigned, including general equipment monitoring and departmental duties such as light cleaning and maintenance of equipment. - Clinical supervision of students, including OTA/PTA students in collaboration with the PT or OT. - Position requires regular scheduled work on weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays on a rotational basis. - Occasional cross coverage within the medicine and surgery programs may be required at the Wilson site. - Ability to travel from site to site may be required as needed. Qualifications:   - Current experience at HRH as a Rehab Assistant or a graduate from a PTA and OTA Certificate/Diploma program from a recognized institution - Must be able to work well under supervision and maintain the delegation of responsibilities for support personnel as mandated of the Ontario College of Physiotherapists and the Ontario College of Occupational Therapists. - Experience in an acute hospital setting preferred. - Experience in working with an ALC patient population is an asset and preferred. Experience working with an active inpatient population is an asset.  - Demonstrated effective communication skills and teamwork. - Must be capable of bending, stretching and lifting while assisting patients. - Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time. - Must be organized and able to complete tasks within the allocated time frames. - Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. - Availability for scheduled weekday and weekend work will be required. - Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.   Why Humber?
