Student Nurse Externs will be responsible for the provision of basic care (activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, feeding, etc.) needs for up to 10 patients each. The Student Nurse Extern may work under the supervision of both Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses in accordance to department policies and procedures. The Student Nurse Extern will also be responsible for the documentation of activities of daily living (ADLs), such as intake and output, and relevant communication for patients in which they have provided care for. The Student Nurse Extern will not perform or be delegated any regulated acts (medication administration, vital signs, assessments, etc.). As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!   Right now we are looking for a Registered Nurse to work with our Emergency Department and we offer a unique training opportunity to Registered Nurses with Acute experience.   Reporting Relationship: Manager, Emergency Hiring Salary Range: $34.24 - $49.02 Location: Humber River Hospital – Wilson Site Hours of work: Must be available to work rotating 12 hour shifts, Days/Nights and Weekend Rotation. Union:  ONA   Position Responsibilities: The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Nurse within an acute care hospital Emergency Department. Qualifications: - Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing - Minimum 3-6 months medical/ surgical experience required; 6-8 weeks training provided - Current Emergency experience preferred; ICU experience is an asset - BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification - Coronary Care I & II certificates or the equivalent is preferred or completed within 1 year of your start date - ACLS course upon hire or completed within six months of your start date required. Course available through Humber River Hospital - TNCC, PALS or ENPC courses upon hire or completed within 1 year of your start date required. - Excellent physical assessment skills - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a variety of staff, patients and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds - Good patient/family teaching skills - Excellent critical thinking skills, with an ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment - Ability to work effectively/collaboratively in a team environment - Excellent attendance and discipline free record required  Why Humber? As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!   Right now we are looking for a Unit Aide to work with our Operating Room Team.   Reporting Relationship: Manager, Operating Room Hiring Salary Range: $23.546 - $24.011 Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 8 hours, days/evenings/weekends “subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights”.    Position Responsibilities: - Ensuring that the areas and Supply carts are stocked, replacing linen, isolation supplies, etc. - Maintaining an established inventory of sterile and unsterile supplies for the units. - Assiting with collection of urgent supplies and medications from pharmacy or equipment as needed. - Other stocking duties as assigned. - Contacting SPD, EVS and or Stores for additional supplies if necessary - Transporting clean/soiled linen, medical surgical /supplies, specimens etc. - Ensuring that all empty Bays are equipped with a clean stretcher - Assisting surgical and plastic clinic patients with way finding to pre-operative change rooms - Notifying manager/designate about broken equipment repairs or replacement and initiating the reporting and transportation of broken equipment to Biomedical Engineering or Maintenance as required - Working with the volunteers in navigating patients in surgical and plastic clinic  Qualifications: - Grade 12 education or equivalent. - Two years of recent related hospital medical/surgical supply experience required. - Medical Device Reprocessing (MDRD) or Sterile Supply Processing certificate is required - Working knowledge of medical supplies required. - Surgical experience is a strong asset. - Able to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift 25-30 pounds repeatedly). - Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.   Location: Humber River Hospital – Wilson Site Union:  NOWU Service    Why Humber?
