We are currently looking for Student Nurse Externs to be a part of our Surgical Inpatient Program.
Reporting Relationship: Manager, 11 East & West Inpatient Surgical Program
Position Responsibilities:
The Student Nurse Extern role is an unregulated healthcare worker providing direct personal support to HRH patients. Student Nurse Externs will be responsible for the provision of basic care (activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, feeding, etc.) needs for up to 6 patients each. The Student Nurse Extern may work under the supervision of both Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses in accordance to department policies and procedures. The Student Nurse Extern will also be responsible for the documentation of activities of daily living (ADLs), such as intake and output, and relevant communication for patients in which they have provided care for. The Student Nurse Extern will not perform or be delegated any regulated acts (medication administration, vital signs, assessments, etc.). The Student Nurse Extern will immediately report any clinical concerns to their direct supervisor.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must be currently enrolled years 2-4 of their nursing program of studies
- Current CPR certification required
- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to accurately and effectively communicate with the inter-professional healthcare team members

Responsibilities:
- Registered Nurse duties in the Endoscopy Department
- Responsible for managing patient care during pre-procedure and post-procedure phases for the patients undergoing diagnostic or screening endoscopies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records of the patient.
- Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients’ condition.
- Starting IVs
- Skill, knowledge, and competency with assisting physician with endoscopy procedures.

Requirements:
- Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

Join our Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) as we work together to deliver compassionate care that is responsive to the healthcare needs of our community.
We are currently hiring for the position of Coordinator, Quality Assurance for the Medical Device Reprocessing Department!

Responsibilities
- Spot check for accuracy of all reprocessing parameters including but not limited to decontamination processes, prep & assembly processes, sterilization processes and case cart picking and delivery/stocking
- Obtain, correlate and summarize trends from spot check data
- Process sterilization recalls, and assist in collecting, returning and or corrective actions for recalled products in collaboration with Manager MDRD
- Provide support to MDRD leadership with –
- coaching departmental and clinical staff in reprocessing workflows and processes including standards o tracking and coordinating medical devices, medical instruments, and loaner instruments
- corresponding and coordinating timely delivery of medical device requests with vendors and Procurement
- interviewing stakeholders and process owners to define processes, including their scope - to gather potential data, information and/or requirements for said processes and for technical or digital solutions
- reviewing of best practices and evidence based health care reprocessing literature to inform recommendations & selection of alternatives approaches reprocessing improvements and/or required solutions
- implementing development of workflow recommendations based on gathered data and best practice research, stakeholder interviews and engagement, in collaboration with the relevant parties
- quality check to ensure process mapping is complete capturing all steps of a work activity and all relevant parties who are involved in carrying out each step
- Recommend to Supervisor QA-MDRD design, implementation, and maintenance of operational process improvements and share related information based on data and trends
- Quality check incoming inspections, testing, preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure that they documented correctly and accurately for all reprocessed devices and reprocessing equipment
- Assist with managing the full spectrum of reprocessed medical device tracking from entry of new medical devices to their disposal
- Generate and tabulate reports from T-Doc on staff productivity, departmental accuracy and utilization of resources
- Generate utilization reports for staff errors, departmental errors, productivity reports and medical devices
- Track medical device depreciation and produce forecast for medical device replacements
- Tracks repairs on instruments and reprocessing equipment
- As a change agent, provide staff with positive reinforcement and demonstration of new skills and techniques
- Assist Supervisor QA-MDRD with implementation of performance metrics to analyze and determine process improvement success, which may include working with multiple stakeholders to ensure cohesive and attainable measures of success
- Gather post-implementation data and metrics to measure success
Requirements:
- Graduate of a recognized MDR program required
- Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (CMDRT) required
- Member of Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario (MDRAO) required

- RN responsibilities with a focus on assessment and total patient care to women in the antepartum, intrapartum and the immediate postpartum period as well as stabilization and transitional care of the newborn.

- Care of patients requiring Hemodynamic and ventilation monitoring by means of invasive and non- invasive approaches.

- Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
- Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
Qualifications:
- Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
- Current BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum 2 years Critical Care experience.

- Experience in working on a Nurse Lead Rapid Response Team preferred

We are currently seeking a Director, Integrated Health Systems and Partnerships who will work collaboratively with internal colleagues, external partners and stakeholders to build an integrated health system. The Director, Integrated Health Systems and Partnerships works with other key leaders and partners to develop and implement initiatives that advance integrated care and partnerships. Lead teams and projects to build system capacity by envisioning, developing and maintaining key partnerships and other strategies that will better connect services across the systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide creative thought leadership to develop and deploy a strategic vision; connect and align activities and projects with the North Western Toronto Ontario Health Team (NWT OHT) strategic goals.
- Coordinate NWT OHT strategic planning, policy, and operational decisions; identify areas for improved collaboration and continuous improvement; champion the identification of innovative and best practices for functional excellence; determine feasible options and initiates changes to structure or operating practices (upon approval).
- Manage and coordinate the ongoing implementation of the NWT OHT tactics and priorities under the leadership of the NWT Senior Executive Committee.
- Be the central point of contact and key organization networker for the NWT OHT.
- Manage the OHT Secretariat and oversee its day-to-day operations.
- Represent HRH and NWT OHT at local, regional, and provincial tables.
- Build and maintain key relationships with primary care networks, community providers, hospitals, long-term care and rehabilitation institutions and other cross-sector stakeholders to advance integrated system thinking and approaches.
- Maintain and monitor project and program plans, budgeting, and tracking of milestones.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert on Ministry of Health (MOH) and other funding vehicles, including HBAM, QBPs, OHTs, and other mechanisms to identify opportunities & sources of external funding.
- Conduct market research, determining which services of the Humber River Health to target, and new opportunities to pursue.
- Conduct environmental scans and identify opportunities for improvement; prepare business cases and proposals as required.
- In partnership with Senior Team and Directors, advocate for funding at local, provincial and national levels. Identify areas of underfunding or potential funding.
- Utilize data to inform strategic and operational priorities and to optimize performance.
- Monitor and govern compliance with professional, accreditation, ethical and legal standards.
- Monitor and analyze performance and quality metrics against targets for compliance.
- Improve and support activities aligned with patient and learner satisfaction and staff and physician engagement.
- Manage escalated issues independently and in collaboration with team; take action to resolve issues and conflicts, and maintain positive relationships
- Support the Family Practice Group at HRH.
Requirements:
- Graduate Degree in Health Leadership, Health Informatics, or Business
- Canadian Health Executive (CHE) certification preferred.
- 5 years of management experience with minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare.
- Experience in process design/workflow mapping.
- Ability to synthesize complex ideas (including legal), negotiate, and build relationship.
- Diplomacy and political acuity.
- Direct experience with budget and people management.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Critical thinking and prioritization skills required.
